Interview with John Edwards in TV3, presenting the book Un Mundo de Lenguas.

On Wednesday October 13 was presented at the headquarters in Madrid IMSERSO the book "Speaking of recovery: mental health from another point of view," represents the work of people served and the team from the Center for Psychosocial Rehabilitation ( CRPS) "Martínez Campos, and cooperation between Intress and Editorial Aresta.

The book is based on 25 semi-structured interviews conducted at the Center with people who had been or were in care there. In these interviews asked people affected by the factors, obstacles and lessons learned in the process of recovery. In addition to these results, it provides basic information on public resources in the Spanish state. The guide contains some illustrations and a poem made by attendees at the Centre.

Introducing the book on the table were Mrs. Montserrat Castanyer, president of Intress, Dr. Diego Figuera, head of the Ponzano Day Hospital of the Community of Madrid, Mrs. Teresa Tang, secretary of the Association of Relatives and Friends of Martinez Campos (AFAM), D. Miguel Angel Sepulveda, one of the interviewees, D. Manuel Imbert, the author of the illustrations, Ms. Mercedes Blanco, social educator CRPS team and one of the editors, and the moderator of the debate, D. Carlos Salamero, coordinator of the guide. Among the audience were people who are or have been in care in CRPS and their families, socio-professional network of the Community of Madrid, and other interested persons. The presentation was well received and a high participation among members of the public.

Miles Patterson was selected as the 2009 recipient of the University of Missouri President's Award for Research and Creativity. It is presented each year to a faculty member from one of the four campuses (Columbia, Kansas City, Rolla, and St. Louis) for "a sustained national and international record of research and/or creativity."

The research detailed in the book Communication and Dementia (Aresta,2010) won the International Association of Language and Social Psychology's 2010 James J. Bradac Prize for the most outstanding contribution to the field.
